Myndin er persónuleg, hjartnæm, hreinskilin og fyndin athugun á viðfangsefni sem enn þann dag í dag er mikið tabú.

Q&A with Kitty Anderson, president of Intersex-Iceland after the film
When the director Grant Lahood started the journey of making the documentary Intersexion, he did not know too much
about intersex, and assumed, like so many others, that it was something that was very rare. That was before he met Mani Bruce Mitchell, New Zealand’s first “out” intersex person, who is also the presenter of the film.
While making Intersexion, Lahood interviewed intersex people from all over the world, and the film takes a look into the world of people who do not fit neatly into the male or female category. The resulting documentary is a personal, moving, frank and funny exploration of a subject that is still very much a taboo.
